Girls Gone Wild

Just saw the pdf preview of the upcoming Bike article of above name. Seriously, I’ve read it like 3 times and it still makes me laugh. It will be a good one folks, a must read. I just wonder how many nasty letters Bike will get after this one….

photo leakage

I just can’t resist leaking this shot from my Girls Gone Wild trip this weekend. It was a bit of impromptu gathering of sorts, put together for an upcoming issue of Bike, and based on the infamous original Girls Gone Wild trip, which, deserves it’s rightful place in history.

This one was a little more mild than the first, but! gee, doesn’t Rob Story look good in a dress?

Help save the Hot Tomato Cafe!!

Hi-

Here is a important cause that just cropped up. The Hot Tomato Cafe need some help. Our lease is up on June 30th, and our landlords, unfortunately, are refusing to negotiate. Bummer.

We are trying to collect as many signatures as we can to stress the importance of continuing to have this vital Fruita business continue to be part of the community.

If you have a minute, please click on the below link and add your name to the online petition which we will be delivering to both the landlords, and the Fruita City Council.

Telluride Mountain Film

i don’t have any photos of the day, and couldn’t seem to manage an update because i finally just pried myself out of an endless array of movie seats at Telluride Mountain Film.  Seems I gave Stash too much trouble about his recent conversion to the land of hikers, and i picked up my pass to find that i was the Mountainfilm Hiking Coordinator……sucker. haha.

i didn’t go on a single hike, unless you count walking the dogs around town. Instead I crammed as many movies as i could into a 4 day span; alternating between feelings of awe and inspiration, and general lousiness that i have not saved the world, protected endangered species, climbed mount Everest, and still always forget my cloth grocery bags at the house.

Mountainfilm though, is an amazing event. A few highlights which i saw and can pull from the blur right now:

1. The Cove; an absolute must watch about the deplorable dolphin trade and slaughter in Japan. Audience award winner at 2009 Sundance.

2. The Yes Men save the world. Installation number two from the brilliant minds of the Yes Men.

3. Sergio. The gripping biography on the late UN head Sergio De Mello.

4. The Good Mother. I don’t think this got the attention it deserved at the fest, but an entertaining look at the Young Mother of the Year competition.

Okay, back to regular broadcasting once I can finally stare at a screen of any kind again…..

Heat’s on

87 sweltering degrees today. time to become the closeted road rider that I am over the summer….
